Exposure Options
For controlling exposure, the exposure options menu contains two options: "AE Lock" and "Bulb/Time."
About AE lock

Autoexposure (AE) lock produces a series of pictures using the same shutter speed, aperture, exposure, sensitivity and white balance.

This can be used when taking photographs that will later be joined into a single image after transfer to a computer.

Option Description
OFF Restores normal exposure and white balancle.

ON

First picture taken after On is selected sets shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, sensitivity and white balance for all subsequent pictures.
Flash turns off while AE lock is in effect.
Reset Clears existing exposure settings.
First picture taken after this option is selected sets shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, sensitivity and white balance for all subsequent pictures.
long exposure (Bulb/Time)

In mode M, shutter speed can be set for long exposures of up to ten minutes.

"Bulb release" or "Timed release" can be selected.


 
Option Description
Bulb release Shutter will remain open as long as shutter-release button is held down, to a maximum of ten minutes.

Timed release

Shutter will open when shutter-release button is pressed and will remain open until specified exposure time has elapsed or the shutter-release button is pressed again.
